WICOPEE – The most dangerous thing in baseball is the believes they can win. That team is Arlington right now, with an unbelievable thrilling win over Ketcham, and most recently a come from behind 6-5 effort against John Jay.
“Yeah, 6-5 really surprised me”, said Arlington head coach Darrell Flynn. “I knew it would be a one run game, but I thought it would be 1-0 or 2-1”.
The game started off 1-0 in favor of John Jay, but Arlington came back with a 4 run top of the 4th to take a 4-1 lead. Then Jay unleashed its own hay maker with 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th to take the lead again 5-4. Arlington came back with a one two combination for two more runs in the top of the 5th to lead 6-5. Jay looked to be threatening that lead, once again, in the bottom of the 7th with runners on first and third and two outs. But Arlington pitcher Matt McGowan shut it down with a strikeout to end the game with the entire Arlington team ending up in a pile of joyous celebration in between the mound and home plate.
