Dover Softball Takes the Happy Bus Ride Home

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dover softball team picked up an eight strikeout performance from Emily Lundgren and a 3 for 4 day at the plate from Taylor Ketchin for an 8-5 win over Spackenkill Wednesday afternoon.

Ketchin had two doubles and a single and Lundgren had a 2 for 4 day at the plate with two singles, to compliment her pitching performance.

Nicole Canel aslo went 2 for 4 with an RBI.

The Dragons exploded for five runs in the third inning and took a 6-1 lead into the 6th inning.

For the Spartans, Kellie VanNess went 2 for 3 with a single and a double.

Charlotte Palumbo had a double and two RBIs

Rachael Wilsey had a double with an RBI.

Dover is 1-0, Spackenkill is 2-1

“Other than that one inning, the girls played well.”, comments Spackenkill head coach Rachel Abrams.  “Dover was impressive with their bats today.  I think both teams are looking forward to our rematch.  It should be a good one”.

The “rematch” is scheduled for April 25th, at Dover.
