Mongelli Leads Marlboro to Shutout Win Over Red Hook

MARLBORO –  Oh, the comforts of home!  24 hours after a slim 3-2 last inning win over Valley Central and a LONG bus ride home from Dutchess Stadium, the Iron Dukes were feeling right at home on the diamond just behind the school with an 11-0 league opening win over Red Hook.  Maybe no one feeling more at home than Sam Mongelli who had a monster day at the plate and a stunning performance on the mound.

Mongelli combined with Fred Callo and Mike Paolo for a no hitter with 9Ks between them, and a four hit day that included a double and a triple and four RBIs.

Trevor Taylor drove in two runs.    Seven of the 11 Marlboro runs were earned.

Marlboro is now 2-0 on the season
