POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The quarterfinals in Class B between Spackenkill and Rhinebeck started out with a Spartan 10 point head start and ended up with a 20 point win for the Number 3 seeded Spartans.
Spackenkill held Rhinbeck without a field goal through the first five minutes of play before Kevin Lyons broke the ice for Rhinebeck with a jumper. But Spackenkill used that time to mount an insurmountable lead. Spack led 17-3 after the first quarter.
Spackenkill’s big men, Kyiev Bennermon and Connor Lee scored 18 points and 14 points, respectively.
Matt DeNatale led Rhinebeck with 16 points. The Spartans move on through the post season tournament and will play in the semifinals on Thursday.
